Support pours in for Peterson via Twitter

Adrian Peterson offered thanks via twitter and teammates and other athletes offered support for Peterson after the death of a 2-year-old son.

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson opened his statement to the media thanking fans and teammates for their support, and continued to do that on Twitter after the news of his 2-year-old son's death became public.

"Thank you to my family, my fans and fans of other teams for their support," he said in a series of tweets.

"God Bless everyone and thank u so much.

"The NFL is a fraternity of brothers and I am thankful for the tweets, phone calls and text messages from my fellow players."

The support for Peterson came from far and wide on Twitter as well, from the NFL offices to teammates to professional athletes in other sports. Here is a sampling of some of them:
