Patriots Turn To Rutgers DB In Round 3

New England adds depth at the corner position by drafting Logan Ryan out of Rutgers.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have drafted cornerback Logan Ryan from Rutgers in the third round of the NFL draft.

The Patriots chose Ryan with the 83rd overall pick that they obtained Thursday night in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings. They also had their own third-round pick, which was the 91st overall.

The 5-foot-11 Ryan made 94 tackles and intercepted four passes last season.

Earlier in the day, the Patriots chose two players in the second round. They drafted outside linebacker Jamie Collins of Southern Mississippi with the 52nd overall pick and wide receiver Aaron Dobson of Marshall with the 59th pick.
