| Merriman was selected in the first round of the 2005 draft, No. 12 overall, from the University of Maryland.
2008
Merriman appeared in one game capturing two tackles before being put on the injured reserve list on Sept. 10, 2008. Merriman had surgery on Sept. 15 to repair PCL and LCL tears in his left knee.
2007
Went to his third consecutive Pro Bowl after finishing with a career-high 68 tackles. Merriman tallied 12.5 sacks. He is expected to undergo knee surgery in the offseason.
2006
Finished with 62 tackles and a league-best 17 sacks. Was suspended for four games after a positive steroid test. Still earned a second-consecutive starting spot in the Pro Bowl.
2005
Moved into the starting line-up in the season's seventh game. Finished with 57 tackles and 10 sacks. Was named Defensive Rookie of the Year and earned a Pro Bowl invite, too.
College
All-Conference selection as a junior after
posting 85/17/8.5. Battled injuries much of his sophomore campaign and finished with 55/9.5/8.5. |
