| Nick Hardwick, a center out of Purdue, was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft, 66th overall. He signed a six-year contract with the Chargers on June 16, 2006 good through 2011.
2008
Hardwick was inactive for the first three weeks of the season while recovering from an offseason foot injury. He returned to the starting lineup at center in Week 4 to play the remaining 13 games.
2007
Started in 12 games. He missed weeks 7-10 due to a foot injury that he suffered on Oct. 14 in a game against the Oakland Raiders.
2006
Started all 16 games for the first time in his career and earned a Pro Bowl berth as the Chargers ranked second in rushing offense and eighth in sacks allowed.
2005
Started 13 games at center as the Chargers ranked in the top ten in rushing offense and in the top half of the league in sacks allowed.
2004
Started all 14 games as a rookie center when incumbent Jason Ball held out due to a contract dispute, as the Chargers ranked sixth in rushing offense and allowed the fourth-fewest sacks in the league.
