Signed with the Bears to be the team's starting quarterback on March 14, 2003… Leads all active NFL QBs with 35 career rushing TDs… Led Steelers to 46-29 regular season record and two AFC Championship Game berths during his eight years in Pittsburgh… Finished Steeler career as the all-time franchise leader in rushing yardage among QBs (2,545) and overall rushing avg. (5.1) while ranking second all-time in passing yards, attempts, completions and TDs… Ranks third in Pittsburgh annals in completion percentage and QB rating, but ahead of Terry Bradshaw - the team record-holder in every other passing category… The Steeler starting QB for five complete seasons (1997-2001), one of only eight NFL signal-callers to start a majority of his team's games during that span… Pittsburgh was 16-4 overall when he threw and rushed for TDs in the same game… Compiled career-highs in QB rating and completion percentage in limited action in 2002… Earned first career Pro Bowl selection and team MVP honors in 2001 while leading team back to the AFC title game and establishing single-season career high with 3,109 passing yards… Started 44 of 48 games at QB from 1997-99… Set single-season franchise record for total TDs with 32 (21 passing, 11 rushing) in 1997 while leading team to its second straight AFC title game in his first season as a starter… His 11 rushing TDs as a QB in '97 ranks second in NFL history to Patriot Steve Grogan's 12 rushing TDs in 1976… Earned the 'Slash' moniker (given to him by Steeler Head Coach Bill Cowher as a rookie) for contributing as a receiver/running back while being eased into the QB position during his first two NFL seasons… Compiled 31 receptions for 528 yards and four TDs, plus 54 rush attempts for 257 yards and six TDs during those two campaigns while completing 16-of-37 passes for 160 yards and one TD… Originally drafted in the second round (60th overall) by Pittsburgh in 1995.

Finished four-year career (1991-94) as Colorado's most prolific passer of all-time, setting records for completions (456), attempts (785), completion percentage (58.1 percent), passing yards (6,481), TDs (33), total offensive yards (7,770), average yards per completion (13.8), yards in total offense per game (235.5) and yards per offensive play (6.36)… Tallied a school-record six 300-yard passing games in his career while having only 2.4 percent of his passes intercepted… Second-team all-America selection by the Associated Press as a senior, capturing the Big Eight Conference QB efficiency rating title by completing 147-of-237 passes (62.0 percent) for 2,071 yards and 10 TDs… Finished second among all Buffaloes in rushing with 639 yards on 122 carries (5.2 avg.) and seven TDs… Led the Big Eight and ranked eighth in the nation in total offense with 256.6-yards per game avg., while ranking second in the conference with 206.6-yards per game passing… Season was highlighted by his game-winning TD pass on a 64-yard "Hail Mary" on the final play at Michigan, caught in the endzone by Michael Westbrook to give Buffs a 27-26 lead with six seconds to play… As a junior, set career-high with 157 completions, 294 pass attempts for 2,299 yards and 11 TDs, while establishing a total offense mark of 2,823 yards, including four games with more than 300 yards in total offense and two 300-yard passing games… Third on team with 524 yards rushing on 102 carries and six TDs… Started eight of nine games played as a sophomore befo
