How Acquired: Signed as an unrestricted free agent in March, 2001

Pro Experience
Cleveland Browns (2001-present)
2003: Began the year as starting quarterback, but struggled and ultimately lost the job to Tim Couch... Played in ten games, starting eight... Registered career-high regular-season passing yards (392) vs. Arizona Cardinals... Injured right fibula against 49ers, but played on, leading Browns to fourth quarter victory... Missed several games, but replaced Couch against San Diego Chargers, leading comeback in loss... Replaced Couch again due to thumb injury against Patriots... Couch returned to starting role after Holcomb threw two interceptions against Rams. Did not appear in final three games.
2002:  Often spectacular in relief of Tim Couch during excellent 2002 campaign... Completed 64 of 106 passes for 790 yards during regular season... Replaced Couch for first two games due to injury to Couch's elbow...   Threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns in opening game loss to Kansas City... Led Browns to 20-7 victory against Bengals in second game of the season... Replaced Couch twice more due to injury, against Baltimore (concussion) and Atlanta (leg)... Broke his leg against Baltimore but finished game... Threw for an incredible 429 yards and three TDs against Pittsburgh in playoff game, third most ever in NFL playoff history... Second-most in Browns playoff history to Bernie Kosar... Made an 83-yard completion to Kevin Johnson that is the longest play in Browns playoff history.
2001: Was backup to Tim Couch, appearing only against Tennessee (7-12 passing, 114 yards, 1 TD).

Indianapolis Colts(1996-2000)
2000: Backup quarterback to Peyton Manning. Did not appear in any games.
1999: Third-string quarterback for Colts. Did not appear in any games.
1998: Backup quarterback to Peyton Manning. Did not appear in any games.
1997: Appeared in five games, including one start. Threw for 454 yards (73 attempts, 45 completions)... Threw for one touchdown, but also tossed eight interceptions.
1996: Was on Indianapolis' practice squad, and later become third QB... Did not appear in any regular season action... Signed by Colts in November after being waived by Tampa Bay at the end of training camp.

Barcelona Dragons(1996)
1996:Allocated to NFL Europe by Tampa Bay... Started all ten games, compiling 2382 yards of passing (319 attempts, 192 completions)... Threw for 14 touchdowns, but also 16 interceptions.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers(1995)
1995: Signed as an undrafted free agent... On and off the Buccaneers practice squad several times during the season.

College Experience
Middle Tennessee State University (1991-1994)
Played in 43 games for MTSU, starting all of them... Threw for 7,064 yards on 501-of-801 passing over four years... Threw for 2,154 yards as a senior... Was named to All-Ohio-Valley team after his senior year... Only missed one game during career, due to fractured jaw as a sophomore.

Contract Status: Holcomb signed a four-year contract prior to joining the Browns in 2001. The deal will pay him $825,000 in 2003, and $975,000 in 2004.
