The Chargers addressed one of their most pressing offseason needs when they signed center Cory Raymer from the Washington Redskins to a five-year deal on March 7, 2002. A veteran of seven seasons, all in Washington, Raymer is the type of tough, steady player that good NFL offensive lines rely on at center.

Unanimous first-team All-America selection…became first Badgers center since former Pittsburgh Steelers great Mike Webster to earn All-Big Ten honors…one of 12 nominees for 1994 Lombardi Award, which goes to college football’s top lineman…earned degree in letters and sciences.
