| Biography: |
Tight End Josh Norman was signed by the Chargers as a rookie free agent on April 23, 2002. Norman attended the University of Oklahoma.
2002
Finds himself as a TE at the NFL level. His first catch was a TD reception from 1-yard out in his first NFL game. Has asked pointers from Broncos TE Shannon Sharpe after a Chargers loss in week 5.
Scouting Report
Was slated by Chargers Insider staff as a late 6th round pick. Versatile offensive prospect that spent time at running back, tight end and wide receiver in college. Times and anticipates his routes properly, looks the ball in and effectively uses the sidelines. Good body control and has a knack for finding the open spot down the field. Undersized to be considered for a full-time TE and has not handled the ball enough for any consideration at RB. A tweener.
College Career
Finished his career with 92 receptions for 1,054 yards (11.4 avg) and seven touchdowns, including 45 last year as a senior. His 92 catches rank sixth on the school’s career-record list. Has increased his strength considerably in the last two seasons in preperation for his projected move to TE. Tied the school single game record with 11 catches against Texas Tech. All-Big 12 Conference honorable mention in 2000 and 2001. Caught at least one pass in every game in 2000. |
