The Chargers selected Caldwell in round 2 of the 2002 NFL Draft, 48th overall.
Scouting Report
Chargers Insiders staff had Reche tabbed as a mid-second round pick. Reliable target that makes all the catches, giving the quarterback a big target. Looks the pass in, displays concentration and effective running after the catch. Adjusts to the poor throws and makes the difficult catch in traffic. Lacks the top end speed and is a poor route runner despite finding the open seams in coverage.
