| Born Brandon Michael Manumaleuna in Torrance, Calif…all-state second-team pick as a defensive lineman, adding all-Pac 10 Area honors at Narbonne High in Torrance....lettered twice as a center on the basketball team and also lettered in track…father played football at UCLA and in NFL in 1970s…single…resides in St. Louis.
Big, physical blocker…works to finish…has soft hands…versatile player…can line up as fullback, or on line of scrimmage…selected by the Rams in fourth round (128th overall) of 2001 NFL draft. 2001: Played in 16 regular season and three postseason games on offense and special teams…saw action on offense in short-yardage and goal-line situations…made only reception of season for one-yard touchdown vs. Tampa Bay 11/26…collected two special teams tackles on season.
Performed on the defensive line, with the special teams coverage units, at H-back, and tight end in four seasons with Wildcats...finished career with 40 receptions for 544 yards (13.6 avg.) and three touchdowns…started every game at tight end as senior, hauling in 13 passes for 161 yards (12.4 avg.) and a touchdown...also recorded a solo tackle…all-Pac 10 Conference second-team selection junior season...started every game, finishing fourth on the team with a career-high 20 receptions for 316 yards (15.8 avg.) and two touchdowns…played in every game as sophomore, starting seven contests...had six catches for 22 yards (3.7 avg.)…appeared in 10 games as a reserve tight end and defensive end as true freshman…recorded one reception for 45 yards… political science major. |
