Alex Molden was signed by the Chargers as an unrestricted free agent prior to the 2001 season when he signed a 6 year contract. Was originally selected by New Orleans in the 1st round of the 1996 NFL Draft, 11th overall.

Molden missed a total of 9 games in the 2001 season and has rebounded to have a solid season thus far in 2002.
His career totals through 2001 are 225 tackles, nine interceptions, six sacks and 52 passes defensed.
