| Biography: |
Ryan McNeil was signed by the Chargers as a free agent prior to the 2001 season. McNeil was originally a 2nd round draft pick of the Detroit Lions in 1993.
NFL
McNeil was selected to start in his first-career Pro Bowl after nearly breaking the Chargers’ record for interceptions in a single season with 8 interceptions. McNeil was named the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Month for September after collecting a league-leading five interceptions.
College
Earned All-America and All-Big East honors from Associated Press, Football News and Kodak at Miami while also being a finalist for Jim Thorpe Award, given to top defensive back in college football after senior season. |
