Rodney Harrison was selected by the Chargers in the 5th round of the 1994 NFL Draft, 145th overall.
NFL
Rodney Harrison is regarded by many as the league’s hardest hitting safety since Ronnie Lott. Harrison was selected to play in his second-career Pro Bowl following the 2001 season (first was in 1998).
Harrison career totals include 24 interceptions, 19.5 sacks and 671 tackles prior to the 2002 season.
Harrison made NFL history in 1997 when he became the first player to score touchdowns on a fumble return, interception return and kickoff return in the same season.
College
Entered the NFL Draft, from Westen Illinois, before his collegiate senior year holding school records for tackles by defensive back with 345. Set school record with 28 tackles versus Western Kentucky.
