The Chargers selected Rogers Beckett, out of Marshall, in the 2nd round of the 2000 NFL Draft, 43rd overall.
NFL
Became the starting free safety in just his second NFL season last year (2001) and collected 93 tackles, good for third on the team.
In 2000 he started the last 3 games of the season and ended the year with 39 tackles, one sack, one interception and two passes defensed.
College
Three year starter at free safety for Marshall. He finished his collegiate career with 311 tackles and 11 interceptions.
