| Biography: |
| Jerry Wilson UFA Chargers – The 10-year pro had been mainly a backup until two seasons ago. While he isn’t big or physical, he often seems to be in the right place and doesn’t make many mistakes. He has mainly gotten by on veteran smarts and is a good player to have around because he sets a good example in practice with his work ethic. The negatives are that he’s not fast and isn’t big enough to be an impact player against the run.
Jerry Wilson is a veteran cornerback signed by the Chargers as a free agent on Nov. 19, 2002 to add depth and experience to the secondary and on special teams. Wilson was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 4th round of the 1995 NFL Draft, 105th overall. He also spent time in Miami and New Orleans.
NFL
Wilson’s career totals include two starts in 73 regular season games, 102 tackles, 5.5 sacks, three interceptions, 19 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He also has 54 career tackles on special teams.
College
Four-year starter at Southern from 1991-94 who finished with 205 tackles, 14 interceptions, 47 pass defenses, one sack and two fumble recoveries. |
