Michael Kranzler: You came to Kansas as a safety. How difficult was the transition to the front seven?

James Holt: It wasn't too much different because when I played safety in high school I came up a lot for the run, so I was pretty used to coming in for the run and stuff life that, so it wasn't too big of a transition. I think that's why they moved me there, because I was so anxious to come up for the run.

MK: You love to cook in your free time. What is your favorite thing to cook?

JH: I like to grill out more. I wouldn't say cook. I like to grill hamburgers and steaks and stuff like that. Southern kids like to eat a lot of red meat.

MK: You also like to play piano and guitar. What sort of music do you like to play?

JH: I'll play about anything. I like to play the Beatles a lot. The Beatles have been one of my favorite bands that I've always listened to, and their music is kind of relaxing and stuff, so it's kind of a stress-reliever when I play music like that.

MK: Was there anything unexpected so far about your rookie experience?

JH: Just how fast the transition into it goes. It's not like college, taking time to learn plays. It's kind of like you're in there, you're in the meeting room and they're handing out installments that you need to learn right then and there. That's kind of a big difference, but you know, I've been pretty good about picking up defenses and stuff pretty quick, so it hasn't been that hard. But it's been quite a challenge learning everything snap-snap like that.

MK: Is there anything you want to say to Charger fans, or that you would like them to know about you?

JH: It's great to be in San Diego. I can't wait to get on the field and hopefully make this team and lead them to a victory and hopefully a Super Bowl win.
