Michael Kranzler: What do you feel you bring to the table as a wide receiver?
Rodgeriqus Smith: I think I bring leadership, just a guy who's going to work hard for you and get the job done. Just being a leader, pretty much.
MK: What do you feel is your biggest strength on the field?
RS: I think I'm a reliable receiver. I get the job done in crunch time of the game, just being reliable for my teammates. They can count on me at any time and in any situation.
MK: What do you need to work on most in order to have a shot at making this team?
RS: The thing I need to work on the most is just learning the playbook. I think that's going to be the biggest part of me making the team this year, just getting in my playbook and knowing what I'm doing on the field. I think everything else will take care of itself.
MK: What current or former NFL player do you see yourself as being similar to?
RS: My favorite receiver is T.O. I like Terrell Owens a lot. [Laughing] I may not play like him a lot, but I like to watch him a lot and learn a lot of the game from him. He's a great receiver.
MK: Is there anything you want to say to Charger fans, or that you would like them to know about you?
RS: They've got a great football team, and they'll see a lot of great things out of me and a lot of hard work.
