SDBoltReport.com's Michael Kranzler chats with fourth-round pick-up Tyronne Green. The lineman from Auburn opens up about getting announced at the wrong position, adjusting to the intensity of the pro game, and working his way into the rotation.

Michael Kranzler: How did you feel about being originally announced when drafted as a nose tackle rather than an offensive lineman?

Tyronne Green: [Laughing] Oh man. It was funny. I saw that up there throughout the draft that they had me listed as a nose tackle. I get it a lot. When I was at the Combine, a lot of the guys thought I played defensive line because I'm a little shorter, kind of a stocky-looking guy, so I'm used to it. I've just got to show what I can do at the guard position and let them know that I play offensive line. But originally coming from the defensive line, it's not that unexpected.

MK: After missing most of your senior year in high school with a sinus infection, how do you think you got Auburn's attention when your only other offers were from Southern Miss and Florida A&M?

TG: I had a real good junior year. I just worked hard and played to the best of my abilities. I guess in that time, they considered me for my senior year as a prospect and I was fortunate and blessed enough that, despite the surgeries that kept me out of my senior season, they felt that I was good enough to play at the next level, Div. I in the SEC. They gave me an opportunity. I think just having a pretty solid defensive junior year, I wasn't a five-star guy of course, but I think they just saw my work ethic and that I play hard and they figured they could use me on the college level.

MK: Was there anything about your first Mini Camp that you weren't expecting?

TG: [Laughing] I guess the intensity of it. I really wasn't expecting it to be like it was. I mean, playing in the trenches on the offensive line, you usually get a lot more banging than a lot of other positions so I'm used to that. But I was going against the vets, and there were no pads but it was pretty intense. But after the first practice, you kind of get the tempo of it and you adjust.

MK: What appeals to you the most about coming to a team like the Chargers?

TG: All the leadership that's on this team, the great players, the athletes, the unity within the team, they definitely have a chance to be competing for the championship. Just being in this environment, young guys are working hard because it's all about the team.

MK: Is there anything you want to say to Charger fans, or that you would like them to know about you?

TG: I'm happy the Chargers picked me. I'm going to work hard for the team and hopefully I'll get my chance. If I get in, I'm going to play my butt off and work hard.
