The San Diego Chargers, perhaps looking for depth and competition at both safety
positions, have scheduled at least three safeties for pre-draft visits,
Scout.com has confirmed.
Patrick Chung
(Oregon) and
William Moore
(Missouri) have already visited the Chargers and C.J. Spillman
(Marshall) is visiting with the team today. Click on Chung and Moore's names for
more information on their visits. The last day teams can conduct pre-draft
visits is next Friday (April 17).
Chung and Moore are slated to go off the board in rounds 2-3. Moore was once
thought to have a chance to be selected in the first round after a great Junior
season, but a lackluster Senior campaign has scouts wondering about his
inconsistency. Spillman, according to various personnel evaluators, is thought
to be a mid-to-late-round choice (rounds 4-6).
Starting SS Clinton Hart is signed through 2012 and starting FS Eric
Weddle is in the third year of his four-year rookie deal, but the team
remains high on him.
