SDBoltReport.com's Michael Kranzler nabs a one-on-one interview with seventh-round draft pick Corey Clark. The massive offensive tackle from Texas A&M talks about improving his pass protection, developing a mean streak and overcoming the arrival of L.J. Shelton. Find out what else Clark has to say in this exclusive interview.

Click here for the "Insiders only" portion of this interview, where Clark talks about realizing his potential, waiting for the phone to ring on draft day, and holding himself to "the highest standard."

Michael Kranzler: Coming from an offense at Texas A&M so predicated on the running game, how do you think the transition will be for you to blocking for LaDainian Tomlinson & Co.?

Corey Clark: It’s definitely a whole different kind of blocking, but with the great coaches here and their experience, it makes me that much better.

MK: One of the most desirable traits of a good offensive lineman is a mean streak. What do you need to do to really develop an attitude down in the trenches?

CC: I just want to get comfortable with the system. Once I know everything without having to think about it, it will let me open up and be a more aggressive player.

MK: You are viewed as a very versatile lineman. Are you more comfortable at guard or tackle?

CC: I feel more comfortable at tackle.

MK: At which position do you feel you have the most professional potential with the Chargers?

CC: I would say tackle.

MK: Have any of the veterans taken you under their wings yet?

CC: They’ve been really helpful. If you need any information or tips on the League or being in practice, they’ve just been really helpful on the little things around here.

MK: What aspect of your game do you need to improve on most to really make an impact with this team?

CC: I would say my pass protection, which is something I really work on every day.

MK: With the signing of L.J. Shelton after the draft, what will you need to do this summer in order to earn a shot on the field in the fall?

CC: I just have to prove that I can play and prove that I know the playbook and prove that I can help the team out.
