Four players were placed on injured reserve: wide receiver Tim Baker (knee), running back Antoineo Harris (knee), safety Hanik Milligan (pectoral) and linebacker Jude Waddy (ankle).
The players who were released are defensive end Kris Dielman, wide receiver Dondre Gilliam, guard Michael Keathley, running backs Nick Maddox and DeMarco McCleskey, wide receiver Jeremy McDaniel, linebacker LaMarcus McDonald, defensive tackle Doug Sims, wide receiver Brian Sump and offensive lineman Alex Tuttle.
After the moves, the Chargers have 68 players on their roster. The NFL has a mandatory 65-man roster limit on Tuesday, but the Chargers have three NFL Europe roster exemptions for quarterback Seth Burford, offensive lineman Luke Butkus and defensive tackle Scott Pospisil. The next cutdown date is Sunday when the Chargers must cutdown to 53 players. They can make a five man practice squad on Monday.
