POORE'S PICKS: Week Nine

Aaron Rodgers (Jeff Hanisch/USP)

The Game of the week has the Bears traveling to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers as Jim Poore is back with his weekly picks column against the spread.

There are a lot of byes this week, so the NFL schedule is a little short. Let's get right to the games.

Cincinnati 2 1/2 @ MIAMI
The Bengals are playing well and are becoming contenders in the AFC.
Bengals 27-21

CAROLINA 7 1/2 Atlanta
Who would have thought that the Panthers are the second best team in the NFC South?
Panthers 28-17

DALLAS  10 1/2 Minnesota

A crushing loss for the Cowboys last week, but it won't happen here.
Cowboys 33-20

New Orleans 5 1/2 @ NEW YORK JETS
The Saints are becoming the best team in the NFC.
Saints 35-20

Tennessee 3 @ ST. LOUIS
The Titans will be a tough out as the year progresses.
Titans 24-20

Kansas City 3 @ BUFFALO
The Chiefs aren't winning pretty, but undefeated is undefeated.
Chiefs 20-14

WASHINGTON 1 1/2 San Diego
The Redskins will pull this one out at home late.
Redskins 23-21

SEATTLE  16 1/2 Tampa Bay

This is basically a second bye week for the Seahawks.
Seahawks 31-10

Baltimore 2 1/2 @ CLEVELAND
Both teams have been very inconsistent this season.
Ravens 20-17

NEW ENGLAND 6 1/2 Pittsburgh
The Steelers sometimes give the Patriots fits, but New England will prevail.
Patriots 24-16

Indianapolis 2 1/2 @ HOUSTON
The Texans season is virtually over.
Colts 30-20

Game of the Week

GREEN BAY 11 Chicago
Without Jay Cutler, this game doesn't seem to have quite the prestige of other Green Bay-Chicago matchups. With the lack of a marquee matchup this week, this is the best matchup of the week.
Packers 33-21

Stinker of the Week

OAKLAND 1 Philadelphia
Not sure too many are going to be watching this one.
Raiders 23-20

Record For Week Eight: 7-6 (11-2 without the spread)
Record Through Week Eight: 55-61-4 (79-41 without the spread)
Game of Week Record: 4-4
Stinker of Week Record: 3-5
