POORE'S PICKS: Week Six

The Game of the week could be the beginning of the end for the Patriots as Jim Poore is back with his weekly picks column against the spread.

As usual, no surprises in the NFL last week,. Let's see if there are any surprises this week.

Home team in CAPS

CHICAGO 8 New York Giants
The Giants are a bad team and will continue to lose to Chicago.

Bears 30-17

KANSAS CITY 9 Oakland
The Raiders could be competitive this year, but not against the Chiefs.

Chiefs 21-10

Philadelphia 1 TAMPA BAY
The Josh Freeman error is over in Tampa Bay and so are the Bucs against Philadelphia.

Eagles 26-20

Green Bay 3 BALTIMORE
The Ravens are too inconsistent this year and will fall to Green Bay.

Packers 29-23

Detroit 2 1/2 CLEVELAND
With the loss of Brian Hoyer as starting quarterback, the Browns hot streak will fade against Detroit.

Lions 31-20

MINNESOTA 2 1/2 Carolina
Don't expect many highlights in this game.

Vikings 24-17

HOUSTON 7 1/2 St. Louis
This could be the last year in Houston for Matt Schaub and Gary Kubiak, but they will pull out a win against the weaker Rams.

Texans 30-20

NEW YORK JETS 2 1/2 Pittsburgh
Perhaps the Jets are better than expected and the Steelers are much worse.

Jets 23-13

Cincinnati 7 1/2 BUFFALO
The point spread seems very high here. Expect Buffalo to not only cover, but they will squeak by the Bengals .

Bills 26-24

SEATTLE 13 1/2 Tennessee
The Seahawks finally lost last week. There will not be any losing streak.

Seahawks 28-14

SAN FRANCISCO 11 Arizona
The 49ers could be getting hot.

49ers 34-16

DALLAS  5 1/2 Washington

The Cowboys are clearly the best team in a bad NFC East.

Cowboys 31-17

Indianapolis 1 1/2 SAN DIEGO
The specter of Norv Turner is still haunting the Chargers.

Colts 26-21

Game of the Week

NEW ENGLAND 2 1/2 New Orleans
This is a big test for the Patriots, but with or without Gronk, they could be starting to crumble. They lose two-in-a-row against New Orleans.

Saints 34-23

Stinker of the Week

DENVER 27 1/2 Jacksonville
This is the highest NFL point spread in league history.

Broncos 49-7

Record For Week Five: 6-8 (7-7 against the spread)
Record Through Week Five: 35-38-4 (50-27 without the spread)
Game of Week Record: 3-2
Stinker of Week Record: 2-3
