Top-rated CB Claiborne to have wrist surgery
LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne said he will have surgery on his left
wrist Friday to repair a torn ligament, according to the Times
Picayune.
NFLDraftScout.com's No. 1-rated cornerback, Claiborne said he suffered
the injury during LSU's 9-6 win over Alabama but played through it the
remainder of the season. He didn't mention the injury at the Scouting
Combine in Indianapolis last month.
Claiborne, who ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at Friday's Pro Day,
improving on his unofficial time of 4.47 at the Combine, is currently
project to go No. 6 to St. Louis by Rob Rang and No. 4 to Cleveland by
Dane Brugler in their current Mock Drafts.
Claiborne said he has also been invited by the NFL to be at the first
day of the draft in New York City on April 26.
"It will be my first time going up there," he said. "I'll be going with
my family and we're going to try and enjoy it. Coach Miles is going
with me.
"I'm very excited. As a kid you dream about those things, going up to
New York, being in the Green Room, bringing your family.
